day one
it has been a pretty eventful day one. started off with me getting back late on sunday night from an awesome trip to Cape Cod with friends, will have the pics up soon. so here i was trying to set up home at 11pm on sunday night, at which point i decided how worthless that was, and instead settled down to sleep. it was a pretty restless night, nervousness really got the better of me.. i found myself waking up every hour to check the time. when morning broke, i was still pretty sleepy, having not had much sleep! i called the office to let them know that i was busy trying to sort out the cable, electricity and gas connections (which i was).. so i didn't show up at work until 10! but i made sure that i repaid that time, more on that later.
work was good.. it's a pretty hectic time right now. after thursday a lot of things should be clearer, with a referendum coming up. often today i did feel kinda forgotten, a little bit lost in the shadows of the big production lines which keep churning out bottles and bottles of cola and lots of other products.. by the way, in case you're wondering which cola company this is, we're the guys who make Mountain Dew too. you will not believe how thirsty it makes one to stand by in a hot, noisy factory with hundreds and hundreds of bottles of cool refreshing beverages passing you by every minute!
work was pretty damn hectic, what with my boss giving me first day targets and mini-projects to handle.. but i think i acquitted myself pretty well. when i got out of work at 6.30 i was really bushed, having been on my feet all day, and a 20-min walk back home still ahead of me. luckily my neighbours in the apartment complex are a pretty friendly bunch, and one even took me grocery shopping! so i got back home, ran a bath.. and then opened a couple of Killian's Irish Red beers, and sat and soaked in the bathtub.. hehe! this is the life i tell you!
i get the feeling i'm really gonna like this job.. that might change once i start working the second and dead man's shifts, i.e night-out.. but for now it's all looking good. thank you all for your good wishes and blessings :-)
