set the artist free

i've been watching quite a lot of Tenacious D lately.. and i like what JB says about "setting the artist free".. how many of you are in careers now that you do things almost mechanically, going through the motions, a functional robot?! is what you're doing today for your career what you want to do? or is it something that you have started wanting to do? biggest question of them all, are you happy doing what you're doing?

ok, this post is heading towards job satisfaction.. which was not my idea at all, esp since i don't even have a job!! i think every one of us has a creative bone (at least one!) in their body.. some people seem to be entirely made up of creative bones! i only hope that i can get a job where i can get the time and energy to do the 'creative' things i like doing.. writing.. music.. drawing.. cooking - who knows if i'll ever be able to make an alternative career out of any of those?!

how many people do you know who have given up their day jobs to follow their dreams? yes i know what you're saying "give up my day job? are you crazy?!" maybe i don't have it in me to do that, but i sure as hell would like to meet a few people who do! take some time out to look at HemisphereDancer and his world.. an engineer who gave it all up to follow photography. he has an excellent site, and amazing pictures - a truly inspirational person!

this post has been a bit here and there and nowhere at the same time, which is kinda like the state of my mind.. see y'all laters :-)
