flu shots
yeah, am back again!! and much the better too, thanks to all for your best wishes :-)) here's the link of the day before i go any further: this is the DEA website, detailing with pictures all the possible drugs you can get your hands on!! oh yeah, nina, we're working on that holistic weed.. we'll publish a research paper on it soon ;-)) [that'll be a completely different take on weed for medicinal purposes!! :-))]
went to class today.. we had a guest lecture on biomaterials-centered infections.. in fact that's what got me thinking about how we could fight the viral macrophages brought around by flu by using weed smoke as a carrier for the medicinal drugs. fluid has long been known to be the best medium of inter-cellular transfer.. now we cannot induce liquid into the alveoli without drowning the poor patient (in this case me!!), so the next best fluid would be air/smoke. how about using smoke as a carrier then? essential oils such as cinnamon, clove, eucalyptus, peppermint, camphor and menthol have been used for centuries to clear congestion in the ENT passages. so if these vapours get carried piggy-back on weed smoke, they should clear the tracts on their way in.. and even in the lungs, there would be maximum efficient absorbance of these oils, and would act right at the source i.e the bloodstream!
there would be four stages in setting up this experiment:
- soak a bud in the oil mixture for some time, giving it enough air to evaporate the excess. this should enable the oils to mix better with the weedsmoke as it burns.
- use the regular buds, but the water through which we usually bubble the smoke (for cooling and purification) would have the oil added to it. when well-mixed, the oils would effervesce out of the solution and into the concentrated smoke.
- the third would be a mixture of the above two runs, in case we realise that the concentrations produced are not high enough.
- this would be the control - no oils, regular buds. this run will make sure a placebo effect is not taking place, beacause it is a well-documented fact that after the third hit, i won't really care whether i ever really had the flu at all in the first place!
