back to work
entertained ideas of taking another extended weekend today, especially since i woke from a comatose slumber at 11 am!! anyhow, finally did crawl out of bed, made a huge breakfast spread, then left for north campus with vip. finally the fulltime status certification came through, so i started work today! hung out with nats n' mal, who seemed to be having a "it's monday, i'm having a horrible day, so i will take the rest of it off to do some girlie stuff" kind of day, so we won't grudge them that :-))
after pondering for what seemed like forever, i did decide to go to class again - heather graham's legs made it worthwhile too! it wasn't too bad actually, and i didn't doze off for longer than 5 minutes at a stretch! then went to the APL (aka MAL, Malvika's Architecture Library) for my first day at work. jen was working with me, and was really helpful, showing me around and stuff, what to do and what to watch out for, and a good bit of gossip on mal too ;-)) hehehe, mal honey.. i have the lowdown on what you really get up to at work now!!
came home and watched monday night football with the boys (mail recepients don't count here ;-))!!) ate cardboard pizza (freezer dinners) and saw the eagles take apart the vikings, in no small part thanks to the homefield advantage.. so for now mcnabb-owens has the edge on culpepper-moss. resumed where we left off with ms. mary-jane last night, and talked to her some more, while watching even more M*A*S*H.. nice and high now as i write this! watched 'half-baked' after that - it's amazing how many stoned movies are playing on tv these days!! it's a sign i tell you, a sign!! damn, did anyone see the handful dave chappelle pulls?! that would keep us high 24/7 for a whole year!!
read something really interesting today. apparently Victoria's Secret came up to the band TOOL, and gave them some really steamy footage of some models, and asked if they could use a couple of their songs for an ad campaign video, preferably starring the band. the band talked it over, and maynard and the boys decided that this was not what the song stood for, nor the band.. so they turned them down despite the obscene (literally!!) amounts of money that they were being offered.. that is truly amazing.. they refused to sell themselves or their music out to the corporate bastards.. there's a lesson to be learned here people - we can and must defeat the big man!!
PS: TOOL did keep the footage though - no reason why the hard work of the lovely ladies should be wasted right?!
