wisdom, in hindsight
wisdom is almost always garnered in the most useless way possible, i.e. after the fact.
for example the one thing i have learned about education and the part it plays in our future is that you better work hard in school. study your books, listen to your teachers, pay attention in class, do your homework and go ahead and score good grades. why is all this necessary? so that you can get a good job, cos most of the better employers out there will not even look at your resume unless you have some pretty high grades.
irony eh, me saying all this?! but it's true.. cos i feel like the foolish grasshopper who pranced and danced his way through the summer, and when winter came along he felt pretty silly. so when i get home all bleary-eyed after pulling consecutive 14-hr workdays, in my head i can see all those smart hardworking classmates of mine all well-rested, putting their feet up on their la-z-boys and laughing all the way to the bank.. you bet i feel more than a slight twinge of jealousy!
but hey, i have no regrets about how i did what i did, and how things are shaping up.. after all, it's April Fool's Day.. and the fool in me is talking to the fool in you
