high hopes

the banner said it all.. "PINK FLOYD REUNITED - PIGS HAVE FLOWN!!"

yes, Pink Floyd reunited after 24 years for the Live 8 concert in London last weekend.. i got my hands on the DVD rip.. man, what an emotional show! as i read somewhere, even if all this hullabaloo comes to nothing, at least all the potheads of the world will have been aroused from their stupors for long enough to enjoy a great half-an-hour set of Gilmour on the same stage as Waters..

they played four songs.. 'Breathe', 'Money', 'Wish You Were Here' (very poignantly dedicated to the late Syd Barrett) and 'Comfortably Numb'.. Waters played most of the show with tears in his eyes, and Gilmour looked just glad to be up there again.. while the crowd slowly swayed from side to side, wishing that this night would never end.

NB: this is in no way an endorsement of the promoters of Live 8, who i still deeply distrust,
but i feel just as strongly about the cause they purport to advocate
