"it's John Constantine, asshole!"

so when keanu reeves walked onscreen and delivered that as the opening line.. you always got the feeling that this was not going to be a regular soppy movie. 'Constantine' premiered at school today.. and it was worth the cover charge.. wait a minute.. it was a free premiere.. so no charge! but it was a pretty good movie nonetheless.. ash, nats, arul n' i enjoyed it.

constantine plays mediator between the forces of good and evil.. making sure the demons stay down, and the angels stay wherever they do.. the line between is often blurred.. he doesn't give a shit, smokes 30 cigarettes a day and kicks demon ass whenever he gets a chance.. all in his search for personal redemption.

along the way he ends up helping rachel weisz solve a few personal problems, helps his assistant grow up, and works with his eclectic bunch of cronies in keeping the above-ground free from intrusions.. i think he smiles a sum total of twice in the movie! some excellent graphics and stunts.. pretty good music and very slick editing.. this should do quite decently at the box office.

NB: i have since seen the critics reviews, and they have torn it to shreds! personally i have stopped listening to the critics.. but those who do.. be warned!
